A day in the life of a Director of Operations:

The Director of Operations oversees and manages the daily activities of the supervisors and call center agents.  The Director of Operations assists Senior Management in the development of collection strategies, policies and procedures that ensure the effective and efficient operation of the activities within the various service lines (Collections and Ensource departments).

  • Oversee the production and revenue generating processes of the collection departments/verticals and Ensource. Develop and implement collection strategies to maximize recovery of accounts.
  • Lead and manage the call center teams, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure departmental goals are met.
  • Manages activities of supervisors and call center agents to ensure coordination of efforts and compliance with Professional Credit Service Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Analyze trends and identify areas for process improvement to enhance collection efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop, recommend and implement plans to increase recovery and reduce expenses including, but not limited to, specific campaigns, schedules, personnel, strategies and collection techniques.
  • Identify and recommend changes to automated systems and collection processes to increase recovery and/or productivity.
  • Implement effective communication tools and programs that will increase the value of the call center.
  • Provide support and ongoing training for Supervisors, improving knowledge, leadership and motivational skills.
  • Assist Supervisors through coaching phase of discipline process and handle subsequent phases of disciplinary process.
  • Consistently review activities of Supervisors to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures and departmental goals are achieved.
  • Assist in determining staffing needs to accommodate workflow and telephone activity.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of new call center employees as necessary, evaluate for advancement throughout the organization.
  • Identify ongoing training and development needs and suggest implementation of programs or activities to meet these needs to upper management.
  • Ensure collection activity compliance with federal, state and local collection laws and regulations, including FDCPA, FCRA, HIPAA.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent Professional Credit Service within the professional and ethical standards of the company.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What are we looking for and what does it take to get started?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Five to eight years’ experience in collections management, with a demonstrated track record of success in leading and managing collections teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of collections processes, regulations, and best practices in the financial services industry, including familiarity with consumer and commercial lending products.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to inspire others to perform with pride.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and maintaining the trust and confidence of members and team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
