Professional is proud and honored to recognize Justin Murphy as he finalizes his year serving as the Washington Collectors Association (WCA) president. Justin, and the WCA, have positively influenced consumer collection laws to protect our clients and ensure they get the greatest recovery. Some highlights of what they’ve accomplished this last year include stopping the state of Washington Privacy Act and Expansion of Property Exemptions in the collection process
Justin Murphy said, “Being part of the board, I’ve participated in a lot of advocacy behind the scenes and how to influence the legislative process, to make an impact. We try to do a lot of negotiation with consumer advocates who want very strict laws.”
Justin has also been instrumental in providing education and training opportunities, such as serving on live and virtual Attorney Panels with the WCA, REG F webinar with Professional Credit, and educating the staff at Professional Credit. During his time as Vice President at WCA from 2020-to 2021, Justin started a quarterly webinar series for the association that he’s continued into his presidency (2021-2022) providing information on new laws and items that impact business, such as keeping the workforce engaged and energized while working from home.
“By participating in leadership positions with Washington Collectors Association on the state level, I’m involved on a national level with the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals. I am also involved with certified credit and collections attorney for in-house attorneys, to make sure we stay compliant while also being leaders in the industry with new technology and collection methods.” – Justin Murphy, Professional Credit Associate General Counsel, and 2021-2022 president of Washington Collectors Association.
Congratulations, Justin!
