Bon Voyage! A Bitter-sweet Goodbye to One of Professional’s Best

In the early 2000s, many families were coming upon hard times. Tell-tale signs of the eventual housing bubble bursting and one of the biggest recessions in history were already beginning. Rebekah Hayward and her family were among the worst hit. Their home had been sold out from under them and a lack of affordable housing left them homeless, living in a motorhome with five children. But her luck was about to change…

It was 2006 when Rebekah applied for an agent position at Professional Credit’s Bend office. She identifies this as a pivotal moment in her life. While she was working hard to help others solve their money-woes, she was also helping herself. Working as an agent, she learned a lot about managing finances and…

in just six short years she pulled her family out of debt and bought their first home.

“If not for my job at Professional Credit, we wouldn’t be looking at the comfortable retirement and financial freedom we have today,” she tells us, now just a week away from her last day on the call center floor. “New collectors would be wise to apply the skills they use at work to their own lives.”

It was Rebekah’s own experience with hardship that made her such a successful agent. Throughout her career at Professional Credit, she has embodied our “New Deal” philosophy, treating consumers with respect and compassion while working diligently to help them make the best decisions for their financial health.

“Listen, be sensitive, compassion and empathy go a long way.”

When asked what she’ll miss the most about her time here, Rebekah says it’s the holidays with her officemates, sitting around and sharing stories during the annual potluck and gift exchange. She has big plans for retirement though, including a return to motorhome life— only this time they’ll be traveling the country in style.

Congratulations on your retirement, Rebekah!

Thank you so much for 15 years of dedication to Professional Credit.
